Informationen zur Anreise nach Bernex
By Car
From Calais the drive is about 8 hours depending upon the time of year. The recommended route is to stay on the motorways and use the tolls. These will cost in total around €60 but are well worth it. Although many of the route maps and navigation systems will recommend the route through Geneva, this route is quite mountainous and can be slow going. It certainly not for the car sick traveller.

Once you get to Bernex you need to head for the Tourist Office which is next to the Town Hall (Marie). With this on your right, head up the street until you see a small supermarket on your left. Turn next right and follow the signs to ‘La Rasse’ or ‘Sur La Rasse’. Bear right at the first split in the road, and keep going through an area with houses on both sides and the road narrows. Once you are past this, take the next left which will have a small sign for ‘La Rasse’. Follow the winding road up the mountain making sure you follow the La Rasse signs. On the third bend you will see Chalet la Reunion up on the left hand side.

By Plane
The nearest main international airport to Bernex is Geneva (www. gva. ch).
Geneva airport itself is split between the French side and the Swiss side. Make sure you know which side you are flying into, especially if someone is coming to pick you up.

Car Hire
When hiring a car at Geneva airport, it appears getting the car from the French side is cheaper. All the major hire car companies are at the airport (Europcar, Avis, Hertz, etc) on both sides so you can check out the prices from their websites. Make sure you take a map with you to get out of the airport and to get back.

Trains

Geneva airport has a main train station which does have trains that go to Lausanne. From Lausanne take the ferry across the lake to Evian les Bains. Evian is about 20 minutes from Bernex in a taxi. The TGV goes from Paris to Gare SNCF Evian at weekends during the winter season.
